Meet the Trainer

Sarah Garrett, ABCDT

Animal Behavior College Certified Dog Trainer

I graduated Animal Behavior College as a certified dog trainer in 2020 and have been training dogs ever since. I’ve always had a strong passion for animal behavior and advocacy. This drove me to pursue a career in dog training to help pet parents and their dogs overcome training and behavioral obstacles. I continue to learn and expand my education taking continued learning courses through my memberships at organizations like the Association of Professional Dog Trainers (APDT), and the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants (IAABC).

Through the use of positive reinforcement training methods, I help pet parents to create lifelong invaluable bonds with their dogs built on respect, communication and trust. I enjoy working in one on one private or day training lessons to create completely customized training based specifically on the dogs history, behavior, and training goals. Assisting pet parents and their dogs brings me great fulfillment and joy, making my job truly rewarding. I look forward to the journey ahead, dedicated to empowering dogs and their pet parents in northern Colorado for many years to come.

The inspiration behind creating Empowered Pups Dog Training

Empowerment is defined as becoming stronger and more confident. Empowerment takes patience, compassion and communication. I’ve found, as dog owners sometime we get caught up in focusing on teaching dogs our language, that we often overlook the importance of learning theirs. I have set out to change that.

My Mission

Our mission at Empowered Pups is to help you and your pup overcome training obstacles to achieve your training goals! We want to help dog owners learn to effectively communicate with their dogs to build a understanding and trusting bond with each other. I’m here to EMPOWER you and your pup so you can work together as a team to create a invaluable lifelong bond. Using positive reinforcement training methods, we will help your dog unlock their full potential by teaching and guiding them to understand and learn new behaviors.
